I find the Hunter Killer missiles to be really useful for the first turn Alpha Strike, well see how it turns out.

ReplyDeleteCan I ask why you got the captain instead of the libby? Guessing it is just a "fluff" purpose (though sometimes .. well a lot ... I wish I had a invulnerable over a 5+ shield I never make anyway lol).
Thats a lot of dakka into 1k - I think it will make a mess of any foot based army and I think with the HKM's you can fairly reliably put troop carriers onto foot.
Because I know my luck when it comes to mech suppression I never rely on my AV13 wall - so I'd go with x5 AV13 over the x4 w a hell of a lot of alpha'ering - but I think you have more luck than me in this department.
I just hope theres no land raiders ! :(
The captain is there for fluff. Nothing more. Most of this group are just fun players and I just don't feel like I need the Librarian. So I didn't take it.

ReplyDeleteAlso at 1k - a captain actually has a bit more "bite" as the stats/wounds/invulnerable actually is quite handy at that points level - even without a power weap - he'll go in and put in some decent hits/wounds if forced into combat - and certainly wont be as scared to go in as I am normally with a libby due to pw attacks just munching the dude!
